Al-Mleha, Ghuta, Syria Partnership: Terre تراب I France Collaboration: Arch. Mais Issa This hands-on workshop explored both traditional and contemporary rammed earth construction techniques. Conducted with undergraduate architecture students, the program engaged participants in practical learning experiences centered on material composition, compaction methods, and formwork assembly. Participants experimented with producing rammed earth blocks and crafting small structures such as garden containers and benches. The initiative aimed to bridge academic research with vernacular construction practices, fostering a deeper understanding of earthen architecture’s durability, aesthetics, and environmental benefits.
